This is how you live at Bakketun
Three boarding schools
At Bakketun Folkehøgskole we have three boarding schools, the 1915-built, the 1960-built and the 2014-built. These are again divided into smaller units with space for 8-14 students.
In the housing units, you share a living room, dormitory kitchen and bathroom. That means a lot of time together in the living room for cuddling, card games, chatting and maybe some small arguments too. You become like a small family with a nice mix of both boys and girls, people from different places and with different interests.
Most people want to share a room with someone they don't know before, which can be a bit exciting at first, but usually it becomes very pleasant over time.
1915 building
The 1915 building is the main building at Bakketun, and many of the rooms have views of the garden. Here you have a short way to the dining hall and common areas.
- 4 housing units with 8-12 students in each unit.
- All housing units have:
- Shared living room, dormitory kitchen and bathroom
- Washing machine and dryer/drying facilities
1960-built
The 1960 building is homely and is adjacent to the main building. Here, many of the rooms also have views of the garden area. From here you can also walk in dry shoes to the breakfast room and teaching room.
- 6 housing units, of which 3 are used by the students, with space for 8-12 students in each housing unit.
- All housing units have:
- Shared living room, dormitory kitchen and bathroom
- Washing machine and dryer/drying facilities
2014-built
In the 1914 building you will find bright and pleasant rooms. The building is located directly across the yard from the main building.
- 2 housing units with room for 8-14 students.
- Both housing units have their own living room, kitchen and bathroom.
- Double rooms only
- Shared laundry cellar with washing machine, dryer and drying room.
