Common subjects

Many possibilities!

The folk university year contains more than just line subjects. The school has joint subjects (approx. 13 t/u), the basic subjects that all students have.

These subjects provide important general knowledge, and form part of the school's objectives in a natural and good way.

Where do you want to go?

We are planning a number of trips, where we hope to experience a lot of fun together. We believe it is important and right that we get these experiences together. It strengthens the social environment at school. Furthermore, we want the study tours to provide new insight and useful knowledge, and that they should challenge others to get involved.

The one trip is on each individual line, aimed at the subjects we have worked on. The second trip is a joint study trip to Southern Europe. All this is included in the school fees!

Stand point

What is faith and what do we believe in? What consequences does our faith have for our view of humanity and the ethical choices we make? How to enter into a conversation with openness and respect in matters of faith and life? We will work on these and other current questions and topics in various ways in the subject Standpoint.

Choir and Cultural Studies: Choir/book/text/formation

Cultural expressions bind us together. Here we work either with music in school choirs where everyone is part of it for periods of time, or in smaller groups with mini-choirs, literature, text writing, drawing/shaping or other forms of cultural expression in elective subjects.

Get Involved

Look at what is happening, both in the local environment and out in the wider world. What is important enough to get our attention and our commitment?

Boarding class

These topics cover exciting and useful topics that apply to us as humans in community with others, both in everyday life at the boarding school and in general.

Physical activity

The aim is to experience that trimming can be useful and enjoyable, and to create new energy in everyday life.

Seminar/menu days

Saturdays are teaching days at Folkehøgskole. Some of the Saturdays we have seminars, where we take up current topics. On other Saturdays, we have subject teaching or various practical programmes.
